Since completion of the Carbon Trust sponsored projects at East Dereham in Norfolk and Cadge Road in Norwich, demonstration installations have been made at sites in Ireland.
St Vincent’s Convent, Limerick
The upper floor of the building, which is two corridors of bed-sitting rooms have been equipped with Howarth’s supply air windows with passive stacks serving each on-suite bathroom. The architects for the project were quoted in ConstructIreland magazine: ‘This is one of the technologies MCO first installed in Mater Orchard. Glowing feedback from the occupant there prompted the system’s re-use in Limerick’. For photos see here.
Easton Mews, Leixlip
27 houses have now been occupied through their second winter, this is Dwell-Vent’s most extensive installation to date in a windy location that has provided the design direction for the new flow-regulating ventilator that is currently under development
Mater Orchard
Mater Orchard is a convent hospital development, situated in Dublin. Approximately twenty rooms now have the Dwell-vent system installed complete with supply air windows, airflow-regulating ventilators and 'passive stack ventilation'. This project is being co-ordinated by Jay Stuart of EcoCo Sustainable Building Consultants.
Carbon Trust
A project financed by the UK Carbon Trust has seen the system installed in seven houses and fourteen flats, owned by Flagship Housing Association, at two sites in and around Norwich.
